The massage therapy instructors at MTI bring real-world experience to the classroom, providing hands-on instruction and one-on-one interaction to help you develop essential massage therapist skills.

In MTI’s massage therapy program, you’ll learn:

  • Basics of self-care, ergonomics, and body mechanics
  • Chair and table massage techniques
  • Anatomy of movement and kinesiology
  • Upper body, lower body, full body, and clinical massage
  • Special modalities including lymph, sports, prenatal, infant/child, & more
  • Basics of consultation, documentation, and intake assessments
  • Review & prep for the the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx)

Modules can be taken in any order; however the module Clinical Massage, Business Practices, & MBLEx Review will always be taken last.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for massage therapists in May 2022 was approximately $49,860. The highest 10 percent of massage therapy workers earned more than $90,530.

Massage therapy students are trained to perform in entry-level positions. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that the majority of massage therapists are self-employed or work in personal care services related to their field of study.

Massage therapists are considered to be in high demand for the foreseeable future. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of massage therapists is anticipated to grow by as much as 18% between 2022 and 2032, much faster than average growth for all occupations at 3% overall.
