MTI and Black Hawk College Partnership
Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) and Black Hawk College (BHC) have partnered to offer MTI graduates the opportunity to advance their education and employment opportunities by earning an associate-level degree from BHC.
If you graduated from MTI since October 2018 with any of the below listed MTI certificates, BHC will accept transfer credits toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Health Information Management or General Occupational and Technical Studies (GOTS).
Health Information Management AAS
The Health Information Management (HIM) professional has a thorough knowledge of medical office procedures including health insurance filing, medical coding, and regulations. HIM graduates are prepared to use health information technology to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services.
Graduates with these MTI certificates may transfer credits to the Health Information Management degree:
- Medical Assisting
- Medical Coding
General Occupational and Technical Studies (GOTS) AAS
The Associate in Applied Sciences in General Occupational and Technical Studies degree (GOTS) offers a flexible alternative for students to demonstrate occupational and technical competency.
Graduates with these MTI certificates may transfer credits to the GOTS degree:
- Dental Assisting
- Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R)
- Welding
- Welding & Pipefitting
- Medical Assisting
- Medical Coding
- Pharmacy Technician
