2021 Midwest Technical Institute High School Scholarship Winners Announced

MTI Scholarship Winners 2021

A total of $691,000 in scholarship funds was awarded to 197 high school seniors across six campus locations.

JULY 9, 2021: Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 MTI High School Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors!

This year, the program awarded a total of 197 scholarships across our six campuses-four MTI campus locations and two campus locations at our sister school, Delta Technical College (DTC).

In total, these students across MTI and DTC’s campus network will receive approximately $691,000 in MTI and DTC scholarship funds.

The winners were determined through a multi-step application process, which included submitting a video detailing why they are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades, such as welding, truck driving, medical assisting, or cosmetology. Finalists then attended an in-person (or virtual) recorded interview. Once all interviews had been completed, the Selection Committee reviewed and scored all the finalists’ application videos and recorded interviews in order to select the winners per campus. Scholarship award amounts varied from Full Ride, $10K, $8K, $5K, $3K and $2K.

MTI recognizes the continued impact of COVID-19 on high schoolers, and was impressed by the dedication, initiative, and positive attitude displayed by these seniors.

We were honored by the number of submissions we received this year. We know there have been many unique challenges high school students faced while navigating graduation and choosing a future career path amidst the pandemic. MTI looks forward to supporting these students as they pursue training for a career in the skilled trades. Congratulations to every single winner, each of you took initiative and showed a dedication and passion for your future.” – Louie Schonauer, Director of High School Admissions.
