Journeyman Welder 7 months

MTI Welding graduates work across the country in manufacturing, construction, and maintenance fields. They are employed as boilermakers, pipe fitters, structural welders, as well as many other welding related jobs. The certifications we issue give each graduate maximum employability potential in the welding industry, especially when it comes to food grade stainless steel pipe. Our training is geared to meet the tough demands of today's employers.

We offer two Journeyman Welder Courses giving each student the opportunity to receive certifications.
Journeyman Welder II is an extension of the Journeyman Welder course which adds advanced rigging and pipe fitting.

HVAC/R Technician 9 months

The HVAC/R industry is one of the main supports of our culture. Everyone relies on heating, air-conditioning, or refrigeration in one way shape or form. Job prospects for highly skilled heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration technicians are very good. Currently the United States is experiencing a critical shortage of qualified technicians. Career fields include installers and service technicians, as well as field service representatives for both residential and commercial sectors.

The HVAC/R program consists of (6) - 6 week modules that include HVAC Excellence Certifications in each module and (EPA) Environmental Protection Agency Certifications.

Medical Assistant 9 months

Medical Assisting is one of the country's top ten fastest - growing occupations. Medical Assistants interact one on one with patients in doctors offices and clinics. Medical Assisting students will receive diverse set of skills and knowledge to help them succeed in the health care field. MTI's 9 month Medical Assistant Program is designed to give each student hands-on training that applies directly to office and clinical settings. This includes a 9 week, on-site, externship. This real world experience is a continuation of your classroom training.

The Medical Assistant Program provides "hands-on" training in basic and routine clinical and office tasks.

Dental Assistant 9 months

The dental profession continues to grow as the population lives longer and technology advances. There will be an increase in the need for qualified Dental Assistants to handle the responsibilities for which they are uniquely trained.The Dental Assistant program provides students with entry-level theory and "hands-on" clinical training in lab techniques and chair side duties. Graduates are qualified for both part-time and full-time employment by general dentists, endodonists, peridontists, and orthodontists.

Medical Coder 9 months

Medical Coders will be instructed in the analysis of medical records (charts) and the assignment of codes for indexing diagnoses and procedures to provide information for insurance reimbursement purposes. "Coding" means transforming the written or verbal descriptions of diseases, injuries, and procedures into numerical designations. A Medical Coder has little to no interaction with patients however, spends their time paying close attention to the details of medical procedures.

Our curriculum is designed to prepare students to test through the American Academy of Professional Coders(AAPC) to become a Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice (CPCA).

Massage Therapist 9 months

The Massage Therapy program teaches massage techniques and alternative therapies that will assist in maintaining and promoting the physical well-being of their clients. Students will learn how to provide hands-on care for the purpose of relieving soft tissue pain, connective tissue trauma, and massage techniques to aid in their client's relaxation. Many Massage Therapist are self employed, which gives them the flexibility to set their own hours; others find work within Chiropractors offices and hospitals.

Massage Therapy students will take the Illinois State Board Certification Tests at the end of their 9 week practicum. MTI's program logs 720 clock hours hands-on training which exceeds the state requirements.

Pharmacy Technician 9 months

The Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to prepare students for employment as trained technicians in an entry level position, assisting the pharmacist in various duties in hospitals, clinics and private retail pharmacies. The training utilizes classroom instruction and practical lab work that offers real-life circumstances to become a qualified and competitive Pharmacy Technician.

Pharmacy Technician students will be prepared for the Pharmacology Technician Certification.

Basic Nursing Assistant 7 weeks
The Basic Nursing Assisting course prepares individuals to function as nursing assistants in nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes in a 7 week period. It provides basics nursing knowledge and skills required to care for individuals in a manner that respects their dignity. The course contains a variety of skills which require fine-motor coordination. Students must also be physically able to lift and transfer patients safely and correctly. Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible to take the competency evaluation required for nursing assistants.
