Who are we?
Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) is a year round Technical / Vocational School. MTI strives to be a leader in promoting student learning and achievement in a variety of careers and trades. Our faculty are committed to academic excellence, motivating students to be life long learners.

Are you accredited?
MTI Is fully accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)

MTI Offers the Following Programs:

Can I get Financial Aid? 
Yes, for every program but Basic Nursing Assistant we have Financial Aid. (You should fill out a FAFSA to find out how much assistance you can get as a Pell Grant and/or a Student Loans.) Displaced workers might be able to obtain financial assistance through the unemployment office in their county the Workforce Network or Career Link.

How do I get signed up?
If you bring everything you need, it  only takes about 2 hours to sign up, including the financial aid application

  • Step 1 Set Appointment – (bring drivers license / photo id, copy of diploma / GED & taxes w/ W2’s)
  • Step 2 Tour a Campus
  • Step 3 Take Admissions Test
  • Step 4 Fill out Admissions and Financial Aid Paperwork

What if I don’t have my diploma / GED? 
You can go to your high school or the Regional Board of Education and ask for an unofficial copy of your transcripts.  If either one needs written documentation we have a Request for Transcripts form to fill out and fax to them.

What if I can’t find my taxes? 
In the Peoria area…There is an IRS outlet at 2415 W. Cornerstone Ct. off of War Memorial Dr.  You can go there and ask for a copy of your tax transcripts.

What if I didn’t file taxes last year?
You can still receive Financial Aid.  Just bring your drivers license / ID and diploma / GED in and our Financial Aid Staff will help you fill out your FAFSA and fill in the necessary information.

How long are your programs?

What are the times of your programs?

  • Welding I…(M-F 8am-1pm, M-F 12pm-5pm, & M-F 5:30pm-10:30pm)
  • Welding II…(M-F 8am-1pm)
  • HVAC/R…(we alternate times each start date…M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Medical Assisting…(depending on start date either M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Dental Assisting…(depending on start date either M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Medical Coding……(depending on start date either M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Pharmacy Technician……(depending on start date either M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Massage Therapy…(we alternate times each start date…M-F 8am-12pm or M-F 1pm-5pm)
  • Basic Nursing Assistance
    • Week 1-5…M-Th 8am-12pm
    • Week 6… M-Th 8am-12pm & Friday 7am-3pm on-site clinical training
    • Week 7…ALL on-site clinical training M-F 7am-3pm

How do I qualify for Job Placement Assistance?
Those graduates who have maintained a minimum grade point average of C or above, and 90% attendance, have demonstrated a good work ethic, and have the necessay skills required for the position may recieve a recommendation from a school official to a prospective employer in an attempt to secure employment. This is not a guarantee of employment or starting wages, but we are here to help you get your foot in the door to prospective employers.
