$10,000 High School Grant Program 2013/2014 Winners

Congratulations to all our winners!

The Midwest Technical Institute MTI High School Grant Program was established in 2014 to help support local high schools in their efforts to provide students with introductory training in a number of skilled and mechanical trade career fields.

MTI awarded one $10,000 grant at each of its seven campus locations throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta regions to assist high schools and career/vocational centers in purchasing equipment, renovating shops and acquiring the necessary tools to provide students the skills to succeed in today’s competitive workforce.

To be eligible for the grant, high schools were nominated through MTI’s Facebook page beginning in February. The 25 high schools that received the greatest number of nominations then submitted a 2 to 3 minute video showcasing how their school would benefit from the grant and why the school deserved to be selected as a recipient.

Video were posted to MTI’s Facebook page and a public voting period began March 27 where parents, students, teachers and staff from all eligible high schools could cast a vote for their favorite video.

Following months of nominations and video submissions, more than 11,000 votes were cast before the voting period closed April 28. Winners were announced shortly thereafter.

MTI wants to thank all schools that participated in the first ever MTI/Delta Tech $10,000 High School Grant Program!
